Olivia Butera is a Mississippi Gulf Coast native who has lived in Slidell since 2015. She is a local curator, writer, and arts administrator working both on the Northshore and in New Orleans. Butera serves as Operations Manager for Prospect New Orleans, the nation’s oldest and largest contemporary art triennial. She has organized multiple exhibitions for the City of Slidell and served as the curatorial consultant for the Celebrate Slidell mural project. Butera also runs the blog The Local Camellia on Instagram, which advocates for shopping local and serves as a directory for Slidell businesses, art, and culture. She also represents Slidell as a guest writer for Edge of the Lake Magazine. Butera earned both a degree in Theology from Spring Hill College and a Master's in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans. Liv is married to her college sweetheart Ben Butera, Assistant Principal of Lake Castle Slidell Private School. Together, they share a faith-filled home full of love and laughter with their young daughter Emilia and Miniature Schnauzer Scout Finch. Liv has a slight cookbook obsession, dabbles in making homemade pasta, and has been known to enjoy a good craft cocktail.
