Melissa Guilbeau, AICP, is a city planner who engages with communities to achieve their vision for the future. After spending nearly two decades serving as a planner for communities of various sizes in different parts of the country, Melissa knows that city planning must reflect the vision and priorities of all stakeholders – current and future residents, business owners, local leaders, and others.
Melissa believes in making the public planning process customer-friendly, while following legal requirements and best planning practices. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and is bound by the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
Melissa has earned awards for two plans that she prepared and employee of the year. She is active in professional organizations, currently serving as the Treasurer of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Planning Association. Melissa holds master’s degrees in urban planning and public administration from the University of Washington, and a BA in geography from Louisiana State University. She was born in Lafayette and raised in Baton Rouge.
